If anyone still has strange characters in place of quotation-marks, contact Amazon support and they’ll refresh your eBook free of charge.Įven though the problem was between the publisher and Amazon, Keith Blount (L&L’s founder) took a personal interest in getting his product better - and just today, has released an update to the software that will protect other authors from publishers using outdated or badly constructed data conversion tools. I had a couple of minor issues when the publisher converted my digital files for Amazon’s platform and the team at Literature and Latte stepped up to the mark immediately to help resolve the issue. For those that don’t know, it’s probably the best writing tool available today. I’ve had a couple of questions around why I plugged (and what is) Scrivener in my last blog. Anyway, thanks to Dan for having me on the show and letting me plug my book. I was responsible for designing and building the technology that achieved the first live-broadcast of a major sporting event (The America’s Cup) via the Internet back in 1995, and it’s amazing how that technology (running in my hotel room back then - forget data centres) and the networks supporting it have matured. Apart from a few slightly off-topic questions (“is is possible to convert AI to Christianity?”, and, “is the Internet an alien invention?”), it was an interesting experience.įor once, Skype held out really well and it’s a testament to modern technology that I could appear on a real-time bidirectional link from Anglesey in the UK to a live show running in the US. Last weekend, I had the pleasure of a 2-hour interview on a TV/online/radio channel in the USA not my usual audience. People from outside of my immediate F&F have started posting reviews on Amazon and other similar platforms - and I’m blown away - a massive thank you for both taking the time to review it, and for the positive comments. I largely (and I apologise in advance for this) ignored friends and immediate family reviews as people tend not to want to offend those closest to them. ![]() When I published “Shadow Code”, I had no idea if people would read it - and, if they did, whether they would enjoy it.
